About the 2026 World Cup

The 2026 FIFA World Cup is the 23rd edition of the world's biggest football tournament. For the first time, it features 48 national teams (up from 32), playing 104 matches between June 11 and July 19, 2026.

It is co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, marking the first time three countries have organised the World Cup together. Mexico becomes the first nation to host three World Cups (1970, 1986, 2026).
